Position Title: Network Engineer - LAN Planning
Job Description:
· Design the logical and physical computer local area networks using the latest technologies for Client’s buildings and campuses
· Manage the implementation of computer local area networks at Client’s sites throughout the Asia Pacific Africa Region.
· Design the logical and physical computer local area networks using the latest technologies for Client’s buildings and campuses with customers from Product Development, Marketing and Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, and other organizations, as well as new Client’s joint ventures.
· Consult with Client’s businesses in foreign markets to ensure the implementation of Client’s networking standards and assist in the selection of third-party vendors to provide robust network support.
· Develop local area network standards as a participant in Telecommunications Services planning and steering committees.
· Oversee local area network support, both insourced and outsourced for Client’s sites across the Asia Pacific Region.
· Interface with systems account and site managers to determine project priorities and timing requirements.
· Review and research emerging network products in conjunction with network engineering activities to assess their applicability within the Client’s environment.
· Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers of network equipment and services to gain knowledge of emerging technologies and services required to support Client’s networking needs.
· Provide high level technical support to on site and central operations/support personnel.
Position Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years experience in systems/infrastructure technology with one year of experience in network implementation required.
· Experience with Cisco Systems networking products (CCNA required, CCNP preferred), and command of TCP/IP, SNA, SNMP, and Net Bios protocols required.
· Other technical certifications (e.g. RCDD, PMI) a definite plus.
· BS with degree in technical discipline preferred.
· Project management experience required.
· Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications and Microsoft Project required.
