| Job Description |
OSS SOLUTION ENGINEERS, $ 4500
Responsibilities
To deploy performance management solutions for a wide variety of telecommunications technologies for operators world-wide.
This will include:
• Installation and configuration of Optima at various locations in APAC.
• End-user technology report creation
• Maintain a knowledge of various vendor OMC statistics and data extraction interfaces.
• Installation and configuration of the Optima data Extraction Transformation and Loading solutions according to standard and bespoke customer requirements.
• Writing solutions specifications, acceptance test specifications for bespoke customer solutions
• Delivery of solutions within agreed project timescales.
• Endeavour to exceed the customer expectations
Essential Capabilities
• Good working knowledge of Oracle SQL
• Must be prepared to spend at least 60% of your time traveling/ at customer sites internationally.
• Working knowledge of Unix and Win OS
• Logical thinking/ approach to problem solving in a time sensitive challenging environment
• Sticking to deadlines
• Ability to work with and contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures
• Good Customer facing and excellent Communication skills
• Taking responsibility for an objective or small project
Desirable Capabilities
• Oracle DB experience/ good working knowledge of architecture
• Ability to install and configure Oracle and associated application data models.
• Telecoms experience. Ideally performance management or data analyst
• Knowledge of telecommunications technologies 2G,3G, SDH/PDH, etc.
• Knowledge of telecommunication performance statistics and their application. OMC, NMS experience advantageous
• A knowledge of Unix scripting eg. Bourne or Perl Scripting or PL/SQL
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot PL/SQL
• Ability to create ad-hoc reports using Report Writers i.e. Crystal Reports/Bus. Objects, etc.
