| Job Description |
Voice Connectivity Specialist Responsibilities:
•Reports to the Head – Financial Markets Infrastructure as a member of the FMTI team.
•Is the design authority of voice and telecoms technology for the Financial Markets business
•Provides consultancy and advisory services to the business, systems development and technology production services for system integration, product evaluation, projects, new business engagements (i.e. acquisitions, integrations, new premises, major projects)
•Delivers high quality engineering solutions for the bank across all voice connectivity requirements.
•Identify and recommend new technology that will add value to the organization in terms of performance and cost.
•Develop a centre of excellence for Voice and telecoms services.
•Develop influential and trustworthy working relationships with other technology and business peers to communicate and achieve performance objectives. This should be aimed at reduced decision-making and implementation times.
•Value - add to various technology streams by timely and proper engagement and recommending appropriate solutions. E.g. recommends tuning of systems, reduction in latency supporting high performance trading and e-Commerce.
•Develops relationships with IT vendors and partners for the benefit of the bank and business.
•Voice connectivity and telecoms capacity and performance related risks are identified, communicated, escalated and acted upon.
•Build, deploy and commission high quality communications infrastructure.
•Recommends appropriate level of instrumentation and thresholds set to facilitate monitoring.
•Undertake continuous improvement.
Requirements:
•Sound Knowledge of Voice, LAN, WAN and network architectures for Financial Markets and Trading systems.
•Minimum of 7 years practical experience in infrastructure development life-cycles, testing, implementation, systems administration and support.
•Solid experience in design, architecture, capacity and performance monitoring and planning.
•Significant working knowledge of:
1.Operating Systems : Solaris, AIX, Linux, and Windows
2.Routers and Switches: Cisco Catxxx, Cisco 72xx, 35xx
3.Routing Protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF
4.Networks: IP, MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, Ethernet, DWDM
5.IP Telephony: Cisco, Avaya,
6.Trading Systems: BT ITS, IPC
7.Voice Recording: Nice, Witness/Verint
8.Intercom: Speakerbus
9.Broker Lines, IPC, Hoot n Holler, Ring Downs
10.BT Myriad, CTI, IVR
11.Voice Conference systems i.e. Latitude
•Experience in high quality trading floor systems design and operation
•Experience of IP Telephony would be a distinct advantage
•Understanding of Cisco LAN and WAN networks
•Significant Analytical experience in analyzing the data from software monitoring tools in order to support application development or performance modeling and analysis and tuning.
•Significant practical experience in analyzing testing results to assess required software and infrastructure tuning.
•Experience in building high availability, high quality voice systems, PBX, voice recording, call centers, IVR’s etc.
•Experience in global dial plan creation
•Experience of voice conferencing systems internal and managed services
•Good technical leadership and sound problem analysis and resolution abilities.
•Ability to write technology proposals and business recommendations would be considered an advantage.
•Excellent communication and co-ordination skills within the technology community.
