| Job Description |
Database Administrator Job Description:
· Maintain databases for production online environment
· Implement and document operational maintenance procedure for Client's databases
· Conduct testing of the new and/or existing system in development
· Perform Database Tuning / Reorganization
· Install new version of the database instances when appropriate
· Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting
· Perform Backup and Recovery (exports/imports)
· Implement security scripts
· Maintain database integrity
· Implement basic stored procedures
· Apply Client’s internal security policies and document deviations
· Plan and test Database Disaster Recovery process
· Support Business need by performing Ad Hoc queries
Skills Required:
· Four or more years experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle DB
· Strong SQL skills, preferably SQL Server and/or Oracle experience
· 4 year Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
· Good Oral an written communication skills across multiple markets
· Good Report writing and Incident Reporting
· Organization skills are required to ensure compliance with corporate standards
· A desire to undertake continuing education
· Strong research initiative, a self-starter at locating relevant documentation, support and process assistance.
· A continuous Improvement mindset with an ability to refine processes to make them more efficient and effective, making more effective use of resources.
· An ability to think ‘outside of the box’ with a long-term view, when recommending solutions.
· Willingness and flexibility to work off hours as needed.
· Strong team work skills across a diverse work force
