| Job Description |
Data Center Capacity Planning and Management
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide ownership and governance of regional Data Center Capacity Planning and Management
Drive strong and complementary alignment between:
Customer and business service requirements, and resources and architectures required to support the customer/business demands
Service Level Management function (in Operations Support)) to ensure adequate levels of service are being delivered at an acceptable cost
Development and execution of a model for capacity growth and demand
Proactive planning and execution for infrastructure growth over multi-year horizon:
Provide year over year financial planning through budget estimates for growth or consolidation plans
Project management and delivery of timely and cost effective infrastructure upgrades and changes to ensure provision of correctly scaled and appropriate services (including appropriate risk management and mitigation strategies)
Institute a regular communication process to all stakeholders, and facilitate an appropriate governance process and structure
Manage communication and coordination with global counterparts in North America (Dearborn) and Europe (Warley, Niehl, Gothenburg)
Encourage and facilitate appropriate vendor alignment and integration across Capacity Planning and Facilities touch points
Mentoring and coaching of other team members to encourage wider awareness in the Capacity Planning and Facilities domain.
Qualifications:
At least 5+ years of experience in data center facility management and planning, and preferably some exposure to operational responsibilities, ideally including data center operations, asset management, production support, or change control
Strong project management/program management skills
Exceptional communication skills
Strong budgetary and fiscal management skills
Solid understanding of the value of common practices and standards in the areas of systems management, systems development life cycle, and security and controls
Familiarity with ITIL framework
Strong technical background, as well as a solid understanding of how infrastructure tools and processes support the application environment, and ultimately, the business.
