Asst Trader
Ref : AT170407
Responsibilities
· To trade in grains, feedstuff and food products mainly in wheat, corn, meal proteins, animal feedstuffs and some other food products like starch, sugar, wheat products for both domestic and overseas markets in S.E.Asia countries;
· To identify market opportunities from both suppliers and customers so as to expand existing business activities and increase market share;
· To liaise and coordinate sales/purchases between suppliers and customers, to secure best price, ensure smooth delivery and timely settlement of payment;
· To coordinate and guide supporting staff in negotiation of contracts, payment terms, execution of shipments;
· To collect, compile and analyze market information/data to create new business opportunities and develop new business models.
Requirements
1) Polytechnic Diploma or University degree in any discipline.
2) Minimum 2-3 years related working experience in international trading from the Food industry is preferred. Banking/Shipping industry background or marketing related experience will also be considered.
3) A flair in physical trading of soft commodities and likes to trade.
4) Possess initiative, good communication, interpersonal skills and able to work under pressure.
5) Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
6) Ability to speak additional language like Bahasa Indonesia/Malay will be an added advantage
Other information
Must be prepared to travel on business trips quite frequently (about at least once a month) in the S.E.Asia region to meet customers and suppliers.
Salary : Upto S$2,800 per month
Commencement of employment : May 2007 (latest by June10-15, 2007)
