Our Legacy

CHIJ Sanctuary for Children (CHIJSC) is a registered charity with IPC status, endorsed by the Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore, and a member of Caritas Singapore and the National Council of Social Service. It continues a legacy of care that was inspired by the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ).

The mission of the CHIJSC is a Christ-centred community where all work together for the promotion of truth, justice, freedom and love, with special reference to the needs of persons who are disadvantaged in any way. The community rests on the central Christian belief of the worth and dignity of each person. It therefore demands a continuing effort by all in the development of an inclusive “community” anchored on the example of Christ as revealed in the Gospels. While faith inspires our mission, our care is inclusive – serving children of all races and religions.

Children who join CHIJSC are welcomed into a community where growth and formation flow from the Christian values that underpin the efforts of CHIJSC.
