China Merchants Energy Trading (Singapore) Pte Ltd, a joint venture by China Merchants Hoi Tung Trading Company Limited and China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd, was incorporated in Singapore on 1st June.

As a pioneer among Chinese industrial and commercial enterprises in modern times, China Merchants Group (the Group) was founded in Shanghai in 1872 during the westernization movement in late Qing Dynasty. The core business has covered from Communications (port, road, energy transportation and logistics, ship repair and offshore engineering), Finance (bank, securities, funds and insurance) to Land Property (industrial zone development and real estate).
