GSK brings vaccines and innovative medicines to patients in Singapore to help prevent and treat diseases including allergy, asthma, cancer, dermatology and infectious diseases. Over-the-counter medicines, oral and denture care products, wellness products as well as nutritional health drinks are provided for millions in the country by GSK Consumer Healthcare. In addition to our pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare operations, Singapore also houses our Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific Headquarters, R&D Headquarters, Research Centre, two Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) sites, and a new Vaccine plant. To date, GSK's total investment in Singapore exceeds S$1.5 billion.

 

Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS)
GMS has two primary Global Manufacturing and Supply sites located in Quality Road (QR) and Pioneer Sector (Jurong) supplying 18 Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) for the treatment of respiratory, oncology, gastro-intestinal, allergy, anti-viral, HIV and neurological conditions for the global markets. Together, both sites host five world-class production facilities. The 5-hectare QR site with two production facilities hosts one of the world’s largest Amoxicillin facilities and is the primary source of Amoxicillin within GSK; the 9-hectare Jurong site boasts three multi-purpose production buildings and a 2-stream R&D Pilot Plant.

GSK Vaccines (Tuas)
GSK Vaccines, the vaccine division of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), is one of the world's leading vaccine manufacturers, supplying around 26% of the world's vaccines. Headquartered in Belgium, GSK Vaccines employs more than 12,200 people and has approximately thirty marketed vaccines.
Stiefel Laboratories
In July 2009, GSK acquired Stiefel Laboratories to create a new world-leading specialist dermatology business. It was a significant step forward to diversify our business and provide immediate new growth opportunities.

GSK - R&D
Opened in 2005, GSK’s Singapore Research Centre was GSK’s first pre-clinical R&D facility in Asia Pacific and is located in Biopolis, at the centre of Singapore’s biomedical sciences business park. Our research centre is the home of the Neural Pathways Discovery Performance Unit (NPDPU). Comprising approximately 50 scientists with expertise ranging from Biology and Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics through to Medicinal Chemistry, the NPDPU is responsible for advancing innovative early stage drug discovery programmes through to clinical proof of concept in patients.
