NUS Enterprise plays a pivotal role in advancing innovation and entrepreneurship. We are an incubator and venture builder with a comprehensive range of programs, mentorship, and basic business support for start-ups. We are expanding and we need someone to be part of the team to nurture these start-ups and help them reach the next phase in their growth.
Work closely on the pipeline of startups from NUS innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, and identify startups with strong potential for success and provide support to nurture and grow themWhere opportunities arise, seek promising startups and bring them into the NUS startup ecosystemAssess and analyse the startups’ business models, and make recommendations for incubation and/or investmentManage a portfolio of startups, and also to engage with the early-stage startups, to help them to scale, and raise funding (investments and grants). This would involve working with potential clients, partners and investorsBe responsible for reports, legal documentation and administrative tasks relating to your portfolioQualifications
You should have a minimum degree qualificationYou should have at least 8 years of experience in early-stage startup investments, business development, venture building, or related fieldsYou should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You should have basic knowledge of legal documentation pertaining to investments as well as a good understanding of financial statementsStrong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are necessary to engage entrepreneurs, and to articulate your recommendations to management or internal stakeholdersYou need to be good with detailsYou need to be a self-starter and enjoy hands-on work with startups.
