The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) is a research centre of excellence at the National University of Singapore doing cutting-edge theoretical and experimental science. CQT is looking for a dynamic technician with keen interest in learning and contributing to new skills in the domain of laser micro-machining. The person will work closely with researchers in developing new schemes for making microscopic structures using a state-of-the-art femto-second laser machine from Oxford. The machine is co-located at a vibrant micro- and nano-fabrication facility at NUS with various tools for characterization. This position will support national program related to quantum engineering.
The selected candidate will be in charge of running and maintaining the laser micro-machine. He/she shall be actively working with end-users in developing recipes and manufacturing the devices as per the end-user designs. The position requires the selected candidate to move between multiple workplaces and faculties or departments within the University campus grounds to accomplish required tasks. These devices are made from thin metal or ceramic and similar substrates. The candidate will also keep logs and liaise with the facility provider.Requirements
Degree in Engineering, preferably in mechanical/electrical/instrumentation or physics.
