Job Description

This position is for a full-time Research Fellow in the Laboratory of Immunity and Immune Pathology in the Emerging Infectious Diseases Signature Research Programme. The candidate is expected to work on a project examining immune responses to viral pathogens by performing a variety of research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designate. The main duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following: -

Independently carry out the design and execution of experimental research required by the research component of the project.Independently analyse complex data sets.Write and review research papers, present research outcomes, conceptualise new ideas and develop plans for independent research, which could have a considerable influence and impact on the relevant field attracting research funding.Provide support for external grant/protocol development, study design and management of research activities.Contribute to occasional educational / instructional activities and project management.Provide guidance and mentorship to undergraduate / medical students and research assistants.Assist in writing and monitoring animal protocols, and IRB applications. Provide guidance and mentorship to undergraduate / medical students and research assistants.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.Job Requirements

PhD in Biology or other related fields.Prior experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques, animal model work, and/or human immunology. Knowledge of single cell transcriptomics data analysis would be advantageous. Demonstrated capability of research independence progressively.Have in-depth knowledge, skills and expertise with potential to achieve research excellence.Possess strong writing and critical thinking skills, as well as good communication and presentation skills.A team player who is able to prioritise, multi-task and work collaboratively in a diverse workforce
