ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – QUANTITY SURVEYOR | QS & COST CONSULTANCY (BUILT ENVIRONMENT)

Singapore | Permanent Role | Senior Leadership Position

ABOUT OUR CLIENT & ROLE

Our client is a respected QS and Cost Consultancy with over 30 years of experience across Singapore and the APAC region, delivering projects across multiple built environment sectors. They are seeking an Assistant Director to lead QS project delivery, support team development, and contribute to business growth. The role requires strong pre- and post-contract expertise, commercial awareness, leadership capability, and the ability to manage client, consultant, and contractor relationships while driving operational improvement and project excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Technical & Project Leadership

• Lead multiple project commissions across various sectors from inception to final account
• Oversee feasibility studies, cost planning, procurement strategy, tendering, and commercial advisory services
• Prepare and review Cost Plans, Bills of Quantities, tender documents, and recommendation reports
• Manage post-contract services including variations, claims, progress payments, and final accounts
• Advise on standard forms of contracts including SIA, PSSCOC, NEC, FIDIC, and PAM

2. Team Leadership & Development

• Mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors through coaching and performance guidance
• Manage team resourcing, workload allocation, and professional development
• Promote collaboration, commercial awareness, and continuous improvement initiatives

3. Client Engagement & Business Development

• Build strong client relationships and secure repeat business opportunities
• Support fee proposals, client presentations, and business development activities
• Represent the consultancy in client meetings and industry engagements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years’ QS consultancy experience, preferably at Senior QS or Associate level
• Strong knowledge of cost planning, procurement, tendering, claims, and final accounts
• Familiar with SIA, PSSCOC, NEC, and FIDIC contracts
• Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in CostX, Buildsoft, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
