About the Role

We are looking for a steady, capable, and client-focused Assistant Events Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of conferences, corporate events, government projects, and association events.

In this role, you'll help bring to life the moments that matter for national institutions, government agencies, and industry leaders, work that is demanding, but genuinely meaningful when it comes together. The events we manage often go beyond logistics; they support communities, strengthen agency objectives, and contribute to Singapore's national interests, especially when international events and high-level engagements are involved.

This role is suitable for an experienced event professional who is ready to take wider ownership of client accounts, project standards, team coordination, and event outcomes, while remaining hands-on in the details that make each event successful.

Beyond executing events, the Assistant Events Manager supports the senior managerial team and management by helping to coordinate project follow-through, guide junior colleagues, uphold company SOPs, and contribute to stronger project planning, quality control, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management & Proposal Development

  • Own client relationships for assigned accounts and provide responsive, consultative service from enquiry to post-event follow-up.
  • Interpret client objectives, advise on event approach, and develop solutions that balance client expectations, operational feasibility, and budget discipline.
  • Review and prepare quotations, budgets, timelines, and project plans, ensuring commercial sense and operational accuracy.
  • Lead client discussions confidently and escalate strategic or commercial matters to management where required.

Business Development & Client Acquisition

  • Partner with the Director of Events on business development and client acquisition, contributing to the company's growth strategy and sales pipeline.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of pitches, proposals, and government tender submissions aimed at winning new accounts.
  • Help identify new opportunities with government agencies and prospective clients, and assist in building and maintaining relationships that lead to secured work.
  • Contribute to the continuity of existing accounts by spotting opportunities for repeat and expanded engagements.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Oversee the planning and execution of medium to large-scale conferences, meetings, launches, award ceremonies, and corporate events.
  • Coordinate internal teams, vendors, venues, production partners, speakers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, manpower, vendor deliverables, and risk areas, intervening early when issues arise.
  • Maintain clear project documentation, briefs, schedules, and post-event records for accountability and learning.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Guide, coach, and support Senior Events Executives and Event Executives in project delivery and client management.
  • Review work quality, share practical guidance, and help team members develop stronger judgement and event management habits.
  • Support clear communication between the events team and management, ensuring priorities, standards, and expectations are understood.
  • Support project allocation, resource coordination, and early escalation when team capacity or delivery quality is at risk.
  • Model a positive, accountable, and team-oriented working culture where help is raised early and support flows both ways.

Service Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Own the service quality of assigned projects and ensure client outcomes are delivered with professionalism and consistency.
  • Handle complaints, changes, and unexpected situations calmly, making timely decisions and proposing practical solutions when challenges arise.
  • Ensure company SOPs and project management processes are followed across assigned projects.
  • Lead post-event reviews for assigned projects, identifying recurring issues and recommending practical improvements.
  • Work with management to strengthen team processes, quality control, project tracking, and delivery standards.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in conference, corporate event, government event, award ceremony or MICE project management.
  • Proven ability to independently lead client accounts, prepare or review quotations, and manage event projects end to end.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management, budgeting, and vendor management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required for preparing quotations, proposals, event plans, reports and official event documentation, as well as coordinating with clients, government agencies, venue operators, vendors, international delegates and other stakeholders where English is the primary working language. This is particularly important for the planning and delivery of government-sector conferences, international meetings, ministerial-level ceremonies and other high-profile events that require accurate and professional communication.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and react effectively to changing circumstances.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined to work independently under a flexible work arrangement, with the ability to complete tasks within deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and precision.
  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Teams to communicate, coordinate work, share updates, and support flexible work arrangements among team members.
  • Demonstrate team-player mentality.
  • Able to guide junior colleagues, set a steady example, and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Able to communicate clearly with management, clients, senior stakeholders, vendors, and internal team members.

Preferred

  • Experience managing government, association, or medium to large-scale conference projects (300 pax and above).
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising junior team members.
  • Familiarity with budget control, procurement, vendor negotiation, and project cost tracking..
  • Experience using event registration systems (e.g. GEVME) and project management tools (Microsoft Planner, etc).

Success Looks Like This

A successful Assistant Events Manager:

✅ Translates client requirements into clear project direction, budgets, and delivery plans for the team.
✅ Keeps clients, stakeholders, and internal teams confident when situations become complex.
✅ Supports the team without taking over, helping colleagues grow while ensuring event outcomes remain on track.
✅ Manages the overall project while delegating effectively, assigning clear segments to junior executives and overseeing their delivery, rather than doing everything single-handedly.
✅ Spots risks early, solves problems calmly, and turns lessons learnt into better processes.
✅ Balances client satisfaction, team well-being, project discipline, and commercial responsibility.
✅ Works closely with senior managers and the Director of Events to improve and implement SOPs, coach junior colleagues, and give timely, constructive feedback that supports their growth.

What We Offer

We believe great events are delivered by people who are trusted, supported, and given room to do their best work. Here's what you can expect when you join us:

  • Genuine work-life separation: A dedicated company-issued mobile phone and number, so your personal time, weekends and overseas leave stay truly yours. In return, we ask for professional flexibility in the short window leading up to and during an event, when timely responses to clients are part of delivering the standard we’re known for.
  • Real management growth: Expanding ownership of government accounts, higher-value projects, and a stronger voice in shaping team processes and delivery standards as you prove yourself.
  • Direct access to leadership: Close mentorship from Director of Events with a genuine seat at the table on client strategy, quote direction and operational decisions that larger agencies rarely offer.
  • High-profile work: Exposure to important government, ministerial, and association events throughout the work year.
  • A trust-based, outcome-driven environment: You’ll enjoy genuine flexibility and hybrid work, underpinned by one simple principle — what matters is delivering with precision and meeting your deadlines, not the number of hours spent at a desk. That freedom is built on mutual trust and your own accountability for the results.
  • A supportive team culture: Short lines of communication and colleagues who look out for one another, because no one here works alone.

Where This Role Can Lead

This is a stepping-stone role for someone ready to grow into full management within Singapore's government events space. As you build a track record with our agency clients, the natural path is toward Events Manager, leading your own portfolio of government accounts, owning larger ministerial and international engagements, and shaping the standards our clients rely on.

Progression here is earned through demonstrated capability, not time served. You'll be ready for the next step as you consistently:

  • Lead a flagship government or ministerial-level account end-to-end, with full client ownership.
  • Take responsibility for project budgets and margins, delivering commercially as well as operationally.
  • Mentor and guide junior executives, lifting the quality of the wider team.
  • Successfully manage larger and more complex engagements i.e. multi-day conferences, international meetings, and high-security or protocol-sensitive events.

Along the way, you'll deepen your mastery of government protocol, tender and procurement processes, and the trusted-partner relationships that take years to earn. The kind of expertise that positions you as a specialist in one of the most demanding and meaningful segments of the industry.

Compensation & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in conference, corporate event, government event, or MICE project management, with a track record of managing events end to end and guiding junior colleagues.
  • Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents are welcome to apply.

Remuneration

  • Monthly salary: From SGD$4,300, commensurate with experience and capability.
  • Annual leave: 14 days, in addition to public holidays
  • Working hours: Mondays to Fridays, 10.00am to 6.00pm. Saturdays, 9.00am to 1.00pm, usually only on event activation basis, with the flexibility to work extended or weekend hours during event periods as the role requires.
  • Off-in-Lieu: Full-day weekend or public holiday event activations are recognised with Off-in-Lieu, so the extra time you give during peak periods is given back to you.
  • Staff Welfare: Taxi fares to and from event venue for early starts and late finishes, covered transport for urgent delivery runs, and a dinner allowance for late overtime, because long event days shouldn’t cost you out of pocket.
