Operational Risk Management is responsible for identifying, measuring, controlling, and monitoring operational risk, and providing early warning of risk indicators. Limits exposure due to human error, unsupervised trading, transaction processing failure, external events, information systems threats, data integrity, and fraud. The Risk Management function is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk. May include establishing risk management procedures and processes to ensure adherence to policies.

Job Description:

  • Partner closely with the NFRM stakeholder team and BU/SUs to provide subject matter expert guidance and advice on outsourcing and third-party non-outsourcing risk management matters.
  • Review the BU/SU’s due diligence and risk assessments on outsourcing and third-party non-outsourcing service providers, and highlight any key risk concerns for the appropriate action, reporting and monitoring.
  • Be involved in the development and maintenance of outsourcing and third-party non-outsourcing risk management policies, procedures and guidelines; and in the oversight of their implementation across the Group for consistency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct periodic end user testing on the outsourcing and third-party non-outsourcing risk management modules in the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system.
  • Provide secretariat support to the Third-Party and Outsourcing Committee.
  • Promote greater outsourcing and third-party non-outsourcing risk management awareness among the BU/SUs through the conduct of operational risk training sessions.
  • Create and maintain proper documentation of all assigned work areas so as to facilitate easy knowledge transfer and sharing among team members.
  • Lead or participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of outsourcing or third-party non-outsourcing risk management, quality assurance or other risk control-related function experience in the banking industry.
  • Self-starter, with initiative and strong self-drive to produce high quality work.
  • Degree holder or its equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team player and collaborator to achieve the agreed objectives.
  • Highly flexible and adaptive to be able to manage varying exigencies at work.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualisation would be an advantage.
