Job Summary

Provide holistic physical, emotional, and spiritual care toresidents in a nursing home. Support residents’ daily needs, engagement, well‑being,and pastoral care while respecting diverse cultures and beliefs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily care, mobility, meals, and appointments
  • Support residents in self‑care and independence
  • Conduct group activities (recreation, reminiscence, simple exercises, IADLs)
  • Engage residents individually, document life stories, and build meaningful relationships
  • Provide pastoral and emotional support to residents and families
  • Conduct faith‑based activities where appropriate (e.g. Communion, prayers, Bible sessions)
  • Support residents through illness, end‑of‑life, grief, and bereavement
  • Work closely with nursing and care teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree Counselling, Pastoral Care, or related field
  • Training in pastoral care or counselling is an advantage
  • 2–3 years’ experience in eldercare, healthcare, or pastoral care preferred
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Proficient in English; other languages/dialects an advantage
  • Willing to work flexible hours
  • Comfortable working in a secular environment while providing faith‑based care
