Position - Legal Counsel – perm

We are hiring for a Chinese investment bank.

Responsibilities

The successfulcandidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely legal advice onthe full scope of operations for Singapore and other offices in Southeast Asia.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·      Providing legal support to management andbusiness units on applicable laws and regulations and participating in newbusiness initiatives alongside business and risk teams.

·      Handling investment banking transactions,including reviewing and negotiating contracts and legal documents.

·      Developing and maintaining strong awareness oflegal and regulatory developments within the company by keeping management andemployees informed of relevant legal updates.

·      Establishing appropriate training programs andcreating or updating policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes,including developments in financial services regulation.

·      Exercising sound business and legal judgmentwhile demonstrating the highest degree of professionalism in dealings withclients and colleagues.

·      Providing legal advice and daily operationalsupport to various business units within the Singapore and other Southeast Asiaoffices.

·      Providing support to the Singapore CEO.

·      Collaborating with legal teams in otherjurisdictions.

Qualifications

·      Must have exposure to capital markets, IPOs,M&A, and other investment banking products, as well as private equity work.

·      Experience in secondary market work, such asequities trading, FICC, and wealth management, is a plus.

·      Familiarity with Singapore laws and regulations.

·      Positive working attitude, strong team player,and ability to perform effectively under pressure.

·      Self-motivated, capable of working bothindependently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to seeing projectsthrough to completion.

·      Highly responsible, diligent, and demonstratesstrong integrity and professional ethics.

·      Strong analytical and evaluation skills.

·      Excellent legal drafting ability.

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills,with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in English.

·      Attentive to detail.

·      Law degree from a reputable law school.

·      Singapore-qualified lawyer.
