We are recruiting a Locum Occupational Therapist/ Senior Occupational Therapist with experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder or developmental conditions. 

Availability:

• Part-time (2 full days per week)
• 17 August 2026 - 30 March 2027

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments of functional abilities, Activities of Daily Living (ADL), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL), cognition, sensory processing, motor skills and psychosocial functioning.
• Develop individualised therapy goals and intervention plans to maximise independence and participation.
• Deliver interventions to improve daily living skills, fine motor skills, sensory regulation, cognition and functional performance.
• Recommend and prescribe appropriate assistive devices, adaptive equipment and environmental modifications where required.
• Conduct caregiver and staff training to facilitate carry-over of intervention strategies.
• Work collaboratively with educators, instructors and the multidisciplinary team to support clients’ development and community participation.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation and participate in case discussions as required.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Full AHPC Registration.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder or developmental conditions will be an advantage.
• Passionate about empowering persons with special needs to achieve greater independence.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous professional development.
