As part of the Credit Analyst team which supports Group Global Markets (GM), the candidate is primarily responsible for the assessment of the credit-worthiness of issuances and to ensure all banking book investments are duly internally rated. He/She is expected to work with various GM desks to facilitate their credit requests, ensure the credit integrity of various GM's frameworks through regular reviews and engagement with internal stakeholders to ensure all requests are duly assessed and are within the bank's acceptable risk appetite.

Job Responsibilities

  • Propose internal credit ratings and conduct annual reviews for issuers or counterparties covered by Global Markets (GM), ensuring adherence to the Bank’s policies.
  • Participate in annual reviews of all GM’s credit frameworks to engage various internal stakeholders on GM’s credit requirements and to ensure any proposed credit monitoring parameters are operationally feasible.
  • Assume functional responsibility for the performing of credit analysis on issuers or/and counterparties.
  • Evaluate the overall credit worthiness of the issuer or counterparty and assess its ability to meet credit obligations periodically
  • Serves as liaison for all credit-limit related matters between GM front office colleagues and internal stakeholders like risk management, operations and other business units
  • Provides advisory services on all GM credit framework matters to FO and various internal stakeholders within the bank as and when necessary
  • To provide prompt credit update to business unit in the event of any adverse conditions/news relating to GM’s portfolio of issuers or counterparties
  • Conduct research/analysis on market issuances for potential opportunities.
  • Work with GM front office to support all related credit/limit and credit analysis matters.
  • Work with Group and Local Credit to fulfill requirements to support Global Markets business.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance with preferably at least 2-4 years of relevant experience, or comparable professional qualifications.
  • Experience in conducting credit and financial analysis independently preferably with banks, NBFIs (insurers or asset management companies) or credit rating agencies.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the corporate and/or FI bond space.
  • Proactive, able to work independently and as a team to deliver consistent good quality outcomes within stipulated timeline in a dynamic environment.
  • Mature disposition with good communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong skills in data analysis or programming and working knowledge of business intelligence tools and/or Murex will be advantageous.
