Working Hours: Mon to Thurs 0800-1715, Fri 0800-1630, Sat 0800-1130, Sun 0800-1715
Salary Range: SGD 3,000 – 5,000/month
Employment Type: 12 Months Contract / Full-Time

Job Scope

The QA/QC Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspection and quality assurance of mechanical fabrication and welding works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, standards, and specifications. The role involves verifying workmanship, identifying defects or non-conformities, maintaining inspection records, and ensuring that all welding and mechanical activities meet quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performing Fit-up & Visual Inspection / Monitoring of the welding and material for foundations.
2. To ensure that welding is done according to the approved WPS.
3. Identifying defects, non-conformities, and potential failures in mechanical systems.
4. Preparing inspection reports, test results, and compliance certificates.
5. Ensuring mechanical work aligns with approved engineering drawings and technical specifications.
6. Ensuring inspection tools and testing equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
7. To report only to project QA lead/manager

Job Requirements

• Inspector shall be certified/ Registered by an independent third-party association, such as American Welding Society (AWS) / TWI-CSWIP 3.1 as a certified welding Inspector (CWI) or other recognized certification societies and a minimum level of 3.1
• Physically fit and able to work onboard vessels or in confined spaces.
• Ability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Tools:
  Must be able to operate and maintain inspection tools such as:
  • Welding gauges (undercut, fillet leg, reinforcement height, re-entrant angle)
  • Taper gauge
  • Feeler gauge
  • Measuring tape / steel ruler
  • Inspection mirror
  • Portable flashlight
• PPE: Must provide and maintain own basic PPE (e.g., helmet, gloves, safety shoes, eye protection).
