Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for “Developing a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) for the Risk Stratification of Pregnant Women study”, Endometriosis studies and Gynaecology Oncology studies in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the trial on time. The RA’s principal role will be to work in general practices such as recruitment, sample collection, data collection, data entry and analysis.

To actively collect qualitative samples for research studies so that the department can publish more papers in high impact journals, establish collaboration with other universities and to get more grants for funding.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will liaise with the relevant personnel in hospital to smooth the process of recruitment, sample and data collection and will be accountable to the Principal Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to:

  1. Oversee the general management of the project;
  2. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with the study sites and other stakeholders;
  3. Undertake the day to day running of the project(s) at the study site, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites, recruitment, data collection, sample collection and management at hospital;
  4. Conduct literature searches, using SPSS to enter data, and analyse data and maintain trial database, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project;
  5. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
  6. Demonstrates the ability to multitask effectively while supporting multiple projects across the department
  7. Coordinate grants related to Clinical Research and other types of research;
  8. Provide logistics and administrative support;
  9. Assist with any other duties that are delegated by the PI or supervisors.

Qualifications

The applicant should:

  1. have a Bachelor’s degree in science-related field, nursing or equivalent;

  2. good understanding of GCP, familiarity with research-based principles;
  3. have knowledge of computer applications, e.g. SPSS, MS office, PowerPoint;
