Division

The Offshore group has vast expertise in brokerage, serves the shipping and offshore industry worldwide by providing shipbroking services within chartering, sale and purchase and contracting of ships and offshore units. We maintain a strong relationship and extensive communication with the majority of the world’s leading shipowners, O&G companies and Renewable Energy developers which represents a considerable source of business opportunities.

Role Summary

The main purpose of a Ship Broker is to act as a specialist intermediary/ negotiator between shipowners and charterers to arrange ocean transport of goods and commodities by sea, the employment of a vessel or to buy/ sell ships on behalf of a client. We have a great opportunity for a talented, experienced Senior Shipbroker to join our Offshore team in our Singapore office. We seek exceptional communication skills, a strong work ethic and a high degree of integrity.

What you will be doing

  • Instigate, arrange and negotiate deals, including relationship building to develop business
  • Daily contact with ship owners, charterers and industry stakeholders across the value chain
  • Maintain a database of daily market activities and keep track of vessel positions
  • Negotiate charters to achieve optimum results for clients
  • Provide market insight and trade ideas to clients
  • Build strong rapport with existing clients and develop business with new clients
  • Maintain databases and prepare market information and reports for clients
  • Maintain internal data flow of key market information

What we are looking for

Key Attributes

  • Experience working as a Shipbroker with a global shipbroking firm
  • A degree from a reputable university will be highly regarded
  • An in-depth knowledge of the Offshore market, with strong and established relationships in this segment
  • Demonstrated ability to both nurture existing relationships and drive new business opportunities, with the ability to navigate and grow relationships in this market
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Driven, self-motivated, and client-focused
  • Strong numeracy, analytical, and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
  • Confident, outgoing personality with a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and proficiency in Norwegian is highly regarded for client relationship purposes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
