Job description

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to help transform UOB’s regional payments ecosystem. In this role, you will design and deliver modern, competitive payment products that support our clients’ domestic and cross‑border payment needs — positioning UOB alongside leading global players and partnering clients in their regional and global ambitions. The role also involves shaping future‑ready capabilities across emerging digital settlement models and next‑generation payment rails, ensuring UOB stays aligned with market evolution.

This is a highly strategic and hands‑on role spanning the full product lifecycle: strategy, design, delivery and commercialisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and design end‑to‑end payment product development, including strategy, requirements, user journeys, solutioning, testing, and launch.
  • Define and drive the regional payments roadmap, with a focus on modernisation and supporting client growth and expansion.
  • Conduct market scans, competitive benchmarking, and client research to shape future‑ready propositions.
  • Champion commercialisation, adoption, and market rollout in partnership with Sales and Coverage teams.
  • Evaluate and shape emerging payment models, including alternative payment rails, ensuring competitiveness and regulatory alignment in a rapidly evolving landscape.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders across Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and country teams.
  • Ensure all products are responsibly designed, well‑controlled, and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Own delivery governance and outcomes — manage scope, risks, dependencies and readiness across countries to achieve plan, quality and budget targets.

What You Will Gain

  • End‑to‑end exposure across the full product lifecycle, from strategy through execution.
  • Experience designing proprietary payment solutions that strengthen UOB’s competitive positioning globally.
  • Opportunities to lead large cross‑functional teams and build advanced communication, influencing, and storytelling skills.
  • A platform to shape the next generation of UOB’s payments infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related field.
  • 8 to 10 years experience in Payments, Cash Management, Transaction banking, or fintech product management.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 20022 and regional domestic/cross‑border payment schemes (ASEAN exposure is an advantage).
  • Familiarity with emerging digital payment innovations - e.g., DLT‑based settlement models, tokenised value transfer and programmable payment capabilities — is an advantage
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills; able to translate client needs and regulatory requirements into scalable product design.
  • Comfortable challenging ambiguity constructively while maintaining a strong risk and control lens.
