Our client is a renowned and global energy trading MNC which is a market leader in its field. An opportunity now arises for an experienced futures execution trader to join its team. This role reports to the Head of Risk, Asia.

Role Summary

The Futures Execution Trader will work with traders and execute listed futures and related derivatives on Chinese exchanges (e.g., SHFE, DCE, CZCE, INE, CFFEX) to support the trading desk’s hedging and risk management. The role requires strong execution skills, attention to detail, and compliance with relevant rules and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute futures and options trades on China exchanges according to desk instructions and limits.
  2. Use appropriate execution tactics based on market conditions.
  3. Provide timely updates to the desk on trade status and market developments.
  4. Ensure trades are booked accurately and reconcile with broker/exchange statements.
  5. Adhere to trading limits, compliance requirements, and internal policies.
  6. Coordinate with brokers, traders, and support teams to ensure smooth trade processing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2–6+ years in futures execution, trading support, or brokerage. Has trade execution experience and understands execution slippage, orders, exchange rules, etc
  • Familiar with exchange rules across various products across different Chinese exchanges.
  • Understanding of exchange trading, margining, and contract specifications.
  • Keen to assume an execution trading role that this position focuses on

Required Skills

  • Good judgement under pressure and strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and ability to escalate issues when needed.
  • Comfortable with trading systems and Excel.

Preferred

  • Experience across multiple China exchanges.
  • Given the frequent interactions with colleagues and stakeholders in China, Mandarin speaking proficiency is required for this job.
  • Basic coding or automation experience.

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced environment; may require coverage after office hours
