Trade Operations Specialist

Location: Suntec

Working hours: Mon – Fri, 8.30am – 5pm

We are looking for a hands-on Trade Operations Specialist / Assistant Manager to support and manage end-to-end trade operations activities for international shipments. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of import/export documentation processes within a trading environment and be confident handling dry bulk, wet bulk, and containerized shipments independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-spectrum trade operations activities for import and export shipments across dry bulk, wet bulk, and container shipping.
  • Coordinate with HQ in Korea, suppliers, customers, and freight forwarders to ensure smooth shipment execution.
  • Process vendor orders and monitor shipment schedules.
  • Review purchase contracts and prepare / issue Letters of Credit (L/C) where required.
  • Prepare and verify trade and shipping documents including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (B/L), and other required export/import documents.
  • Ensure documentation complies with L/C terms, contract requirements, and shipping timelines.
  • Process Purchase Orders (POs), sales transactions, and goods returns in SAP.
  • Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) related to trade transactions.
  • Support month-end closing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Perform other administrative or operational duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Business, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in trade operations within a commodity trading, shipping, or international trading firm.
  • Strong understanding of import/export documentation and international trade processes.
  • Practical experience handling dry bulk, wet bulk, and containerized shipments.
  • Familiar with Letter of Credit (L/C) processes, Bills of Lading, shipping documentation, and Incoterms.
  • Experience using SAP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment.
