Job Description

• Industry/ Organization Type: Manufacture of General-Purpose Machinery
• Position Title: Applications Engineer (Automation & Proposals)
• Working Location: Pioneer
• Working Hours: 5 days (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
• Salary Package: Salary up to $5,800
• Duration: Permanent Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop concepts, pricing, and technical proposals for customised automation and build-to-print projects.
• Consult engineering management on pricing and layouts for complex projects.
• Support product, system, process, and equipment development based on customer requirements.
• Involve third-party vendors and suppliers in quotations when required.
• Visit customer sites to support project or product development.
• Deliver technical and sales presentations when required.
• Estimate time, quantities, labour, and material costs for design, testing, machine building, installation, and manufacturing.
• Gather technical details and customer requirements from Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
• Draft, organise, edit, and finalise clear technical proposals.
• Submit completed proposals by the required deadline.
• Support Engineering, Sales, and Marketing with special projects.
• Define the scope clearly so the project team can begin execution.
• Prepare cost estimates and hand them over to the Project Manager at project commencement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience in the automation or controls industry.
• At least 2 years of experience using 3D CAD software such as Pro/ENGINEER or SolidWorks, with exposure to conceptual design, BOMs, sheet metal, fixtures, or machine design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD.
• Able to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, with a good understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Able to travel overseas when required.
