Assistant Manager – Quantity Surveying (Construction)

Location: Jurong / West Singapore
Salary: Up to S$8,000 per month
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Quantity Surveying team in contract administration, cost management, tendering and overall commercial matters for construction projects.

• Establish, implement and monitor project cost plans, budgets and cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.

• Review quantity take-offs, measurements and cost estimates to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Manage pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying activities.

• Manage the tendering process, including preparation of tender documentation, tender analysis, evaluation and recommendations.

• Coordinate the bid proposal process, including gathering critical information, coordinating internal resources and preparing final bid submissions.

• Manage progress claims, subcontractor claims, variation orders and other contractual and commercial matters.

• Monitor project budgets, commitments, forecasts and overall project costs.

• Manage and facilitate the assessment and settlement of final accounts.

• Review contractual requirements and identify potential commercial and contractual risks.

• Liaise and maintain effective working relationships with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders.

• Support the identification of potential business and project opportunities and contribute relevant commercial and market information.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders and relevant subject-matter experts to support tender and project requirements.

• Provide guidance and support to members of the QS team to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or a related discipline.

• Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying within Singapore's construction industry.

• Experience handling both pre-contract and post-contract QS functions.

• Strong working knowledge of tendering, cost estimation, cost planning, contract administration, progress claims, variation orders, cost control and final accounts.

• Experience leading or supervising a QS team would be advantageous.

• Experience working on HDB construction projects would be advantageous.

• Good knowledge of Singapore construction contracts, commercial practices and relevant industry requirements.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.

• Able to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines effectively.
