About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Export Control Compliance Specialist to join a high-profile global technology project supporting a leading multinational technology organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, highly innovative and internationally connected technology environment, supporting complex export-control and international trade-compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.

The role will focus on assessing the cross-border transfer of products, software, technology and technical data, ensuring that applicable export-control requirements, licensing obligations and end-user/end-use considerations are appropriately addressed.

You will collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Sales and other business functions, providing practical guidance that enables global business operations while maintaining strong regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess cross-border transfers of products, software, technology and technical data against applicable export-control requirements.
  • Conduct export-control classification and licensing assessments.
  • Support compliance with relevant US, EU and China export-control regulations, where applicable.
  • Assess end-user, end-use and destination-related export-control requirements.
  • Review transfers involving engineering data, source code, software, technical drawings, technical documentation and other controlled technology.
  • Support the development and implementation of export-control policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Provide guidance and training to relevant stakeholders on export-control and trade-compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Sales, Engineering and other teams to assess and resolve export-control matters.
  • Support restricted-party and sanctions screening where relevant to export-control assessments.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records relating to export-control reviews, approvals and licences.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and support updates to internal processes and compliance controls.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Law, Compliance, International Trade, Business, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience in Export Control, Trade Compliance, International Trade Compliance or a related field.
  • Practical experience assessing export-control requirements relating to products, software, technology or technical data.
  • Experience with export classification, licensing, and/or end-user or end-use assessments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following is advantageous:US Export Administration Regulations (EAR)International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)EU export-control / dual-use regulationsChina export-control requirements
  • Ability to understand and assess technical information, including engineering data, software, source code and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple functions.

Preferred Experience

Experience within a global technology, engineering, manufacturing or international trade environment would be advantageous.

Candidates with experience across technology, semiconductor/electronics, aerospace and defence, automotive, industrial technology, engineering or high-tech manufacturing are encouraged to apply.

Experience supporting China-US and/or China-Europe technology or product transfers would be particularly relevant.
