Job Summary

Lead manufacturing cell operations to maximize productivity and throughput while ensuring safety, quality, and continuous process improvements in a rubber molding production environment.

Responsibilities

• Maximize manufacturing cell productivity by optimizing throughput and process flow
• Promote a safe work environment through proper equipment use, process design, and housekeeping
• Collaborate with departments and cell members to drive continuous manufacturing process improvements
• Troubleshoot technical issues during production to minimize downtime and maintain quality
• Investigate NCR rework cases and coordinate corrective actions with Engineering and cell members
• Work with in-process QC technicians to shorten lead times and improve process flow
• Train and guide operators on critical rubber molding setups following Engineering instructions
• Verify and correct production press operators’ clocking hours in M3 system to ensure accurate data
• Ensure strict adherence to individual work instructions and develop annual cross-training plans
• Motivate press operators to uphold quality output standards and manufacturing discipline
• Oversee correct and appropriate use of production machines and equipment
• Diagnose and repair machine and equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize disruptions
• Manage maintenance and periodic servicing of press mold machines, coordinating internal or external support as needed
• Ensure proper storage and updated inventory of molds to maintain organization and accessibility
• Own and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) results for the manufacturing cell
• Ensure compliance with API procedures within the cell to maintain quality standards
• Coordinate with supply chain teams to secure necessary materials and services for production
• Support first article inspections, prototype testing of new parts/processes, and API/Customer audits
• Lead weekly 5S inspections within the cell to maintain workplace organization and cleanliness

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma or Degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a production environment
• Working knowledge of production flow control related to rubber compound and molding operations
• Experience as a production supervisor or production engineer managing operators

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Proficiency in MS Office and planning software to support high-mix, low-volume production planning
• Experience promoting 5S or Lean manufacturing principles in production areas
