1. THE POSITION

We are looking for up to four entrepreneurial, highly motivated and commercially driven salespeople

to drive student recruitment and revenue growth for our education programmes.

This is a sales and business development position, not an administrative or front desk position.

Your principal responsibility is to find prospective students, create opportunities, develop

relationships, overcome objections and close enrolments.

This is a high-performance, sales-driven position in which the principal earning opportunity comes

from commission. The base salary is deliberately modest because we are looking for individuals who

are motivated by results, sales volume and the opportunity to earn substantially more through their

own efforts. A successful salesperson may earn approximately S$3,000 to S$5,000 or more in monthly

commission, depending on sales performance, lead generation and deal volume.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have already tried to sell something independently,

whether through Alibaba, Amazon, Shopee, social media, e-commerce, trading, personal networks or

their own business ventures. Your previous business does not need to have succeeded. We value people

who have had the initiative to try, the resilience to fail, the ability to learn and the

determination to try again.

Candidates who are unable to work full-time may be engaged part-time at S$13 per hour, with

commission on the same terms. Part-time hours are agreed on appointment.

2. COMPENSATION AND EARNING POTENTIAL

Base salary: S$1,500 per month for full-time staff. Part-time staff are paid S$13 per hour.

Commission structure

• 15% commission on enrolments closed from company-generated leads.

• 30% commission on the majority of self-generated leads and sales.

• Up to 45% commission on exceptional opportunities involving social-media influencers, strategic

partnerships and high-volume sales.

Commission is paid through payroll on fees actually received by the Academy. There is no ceiling on

commission earnings: the more business you generate and close, the more you earn.

Earning potential

• Approximately three enrolments a month: monthly commission of around S$3,000, depending on deal

value and the applicable commission rate.

• Approximately five enrolments a month: monthly commission of around S$5,000, depending on deal

value and the applicable commission rate.

A strong full-time performer can therefore earn S$4,500 to S$6,500 or more per month, with

substantially higher earnings possible as sales volume increases. The compensation structure is

designed for someone who wants substantial upside based on performance.

3. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We want people who do not need to be told what to do every day. You should be a self-starter who can

identify opportunities, develop your own leads, experiment with different approaches and pursue

prospects until the sale is closed.

We are not primarily looking for academic qualifications or certificates, and there is no minimum

educational qualification for this position. What matters is your ability to generate business and

close deals.

The ideal candidate

• Has genuine entrepreneurial zeal.

• Is highly motivated by sales and commission.

• Enjoys meeting and communicating with new people.

• Is confident asking for the sale.

• Is persistent when faced with rejection.

• Can negotiate and handle objections.

• Is comfortable setting personal targets.

• Can work independently without constant supervision.

• Is willing to explore new markets and unconventional sales channels.

• Has commercial instinct and a strong sense of urgency.

• Wants to build income based on personal performance.

4. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Student recruitment and sales

• Generate qualified student leads through personal networking, social media, referrals, events and

other channels.

• Identify and approach prospective students and decision-makers.

• Conduct sales consultations by telephone, WhatsApp, WeChat, social media and face-to-face

meetings.

• Understand customer needs and recommend suitable courses and programmes.

• Present course benefits, fees, career opportunities and enrolment options convincingly.

• Handle objections concerning price, timing, course suitability and competing alternatives.

• Negotiate confidently and close student enrolments.

• Follow up systematically with prospects until they enrol or clearly decline.

• Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective students.

• Achieve agreed monthly sales and enrolment targets.

• Develop referral networks and strategic relationships that generate recurring business.

• Conduct all marketing and recruitment activity in accordance with the Private Education Act 2009,

the advertising guidelines of the Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) and the Academy's

approved published materials.

Mainland China customer acquisition

Experience selling to Mainland China customers is strongly preferred. You may be expected to:

• Develop prospective student networks within Mainland China.

• Use Mandarin confidently in commercial conversations.

• Build relationships through WeChat and Chinese social-media platforms.

• Identify Chinese communities, agents, influencers and referral partners.

• Understand customer behaviour and purchasing considerations among Mainland Chinese clients.

• Develop new sales channels rather than relying solely on company-generated enquiries.

Candidates should ideally have at least two years of practical experience dealing with Mainland

China customers, preferably involving direct sales, business development, trading or customer

acquisition.

Digital and social-media marketing

• Generate leads through Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, WeChat, Xiaohongshu, Douyin and

other relevant platforms.

• Create and publish content designed to generate customer enquiries.

• Develop personal networks and online communities for lead generation.

• Identify and approach social-media influencers and content creators for commercial collaborations.

• Explore affiliate, referral and partnership opportunities.

• Test different promotional approaches and measure the resulting enquiries and enrolments.

• Use digital marketing as a sales-generation tool, not simply to maintain a social-media presence.

5. E-COMMERCE AND ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPERIENCE

Candidates with practical experience of Alibaba, Amazon, Shopee, Taobao, Tmall, WeChat, Xiaohongshu

or Douyin will be strongly considered, particularly where the candidate has personally used these

platforms to find customers, market products, negotiate, sell or operate a small business.

Experience running a small business, online store, trading operation, side hustle or other

commercial venture is highly desirable. A failed business is not necessarily a negative. We are

interested in candidates who have demonstrated the courage to attempt something independently,

learned from the experience and continued developing their commercial abilities.

6. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• At least two years of practical sales, business development, direct selling or customer

acquisition experience.

• Preferably at least two years of experience dealing with Mainland China customers.

• Strong sales closing ability.

• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Fluency in English.

• Strong Mandarin communication skills, as the role involves selling to and supporting Mainland

Chinese customers.

• Good understanding of social-media platforms and online customer acquisition.

• Comfortable using WhatsApp, WeChat and other digital communication channels.

• Able to work independently and take ownership of results.

• Highly motivated by performance-based income.

• Comfortable with rejection and persistent follow-up.

Strongly preferred

• Entrepreneurial or business ownership experience.

• E-commerce or online trading experience, including Alibaba, Amazon, Shopee, Taobao or Tmall.

• WeChat, Xiaohongshu or Douyin commercial experience.

• Existing Mainland China customer networks.

• Experience selling education, training, professional services or other high-value products.

• Experience with social-media influencers or affiliate marketing.

• Proven ability to close sales consistently rather than merely generate leads.

7. WHO SHOULD APPLY

This position is particularly suitable for someone who thinks: “I do not want to be paid simply for

turning up. I want to be paid for what I can achieve.”

You may be a recent entrepreneur, salesperson, online trader, e-commerce operator, social-media

marketer, business development executive or someone who has built a customer network independently.

You may even have tried a business that did not work. That is not necessarily a problem. What

matters is whether you have the drive, resilience, initiative and commercial instinct to keep

looking for opportunities and close the next deal.

We are looking for people who can take a market opportunity and turn it into revenue without

constant mentoring or supervision.

8. APPLICATION

Applicants should submit:

1. Resume or CV.

2. Current and expected salary.

3. Details of practical sales experience.

4. Examples of products or services personally sold.

5. Details of any business, e-commerce, trading or entrepreneurial ventures undertaken.

6. Experience dealing with Mainland China customers.

7. Experience with Alibaba, Amazon, Shopee, WeChat or other online platforms.

8. Examples of significant sales or deals personally closed.

Your application should focus on what you have actually sold, to whom you sold it, how you generated

the customer and what results you achieved.

Applications may be submitted through the MyCareersFuture portal or by electronic mail to

email address. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
