Work schedule: 5 days workweek, 44 hours per week

Role overview: 

We are looking for a Commis Chef to supports daily pastry production with a focus on entremets, cakes, and takeaway items. Works under supervision to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in a production environment.

Key responsibilities 

• Assist in preparation and assembly of entremets, cakes, and pastries

• Execute basic components (sponges, creams, fillings, glazes, garnishes)

• Execute preparation of day time dine in pastry items

• Support daily mise en place and production prep

• Maintain consistency in portioning, finishing, and presentation

• Handle basic equipment and follow recipes accurately

• Ensure cleanliness and organisation of workstation

• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times

• General cleaning duties of work station, supplies and equipment, etc. 

• Assist with stock rotation and ingredient preparation

• Basic pastry training or kitchen experience preferred

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

• Able to follow instructions and recipes precisely

• Good work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Team player with a positive attitude

• Ability to work on weekends and public holidays
