PRIVATE FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY PRACTICE · SINGAPORE
Plastic Surgery Nurse Manager
A senior, hands-on clinical leadership role for an experienced Registered Nurse who wantsto help build an exceptional surgical practice from the ground up.
ELIGIBILITY Only nurses currently registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) and holding a valid Practising Certificate may apply. Applications from candidates without current SNB registration cannot be considered.
ABOUT THE PRACTICE
We are a specialist facial plastic surgery practice combining surgical facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty and reconstructive work with non-surgical aesthetic and energy-based treatments.
The clinic is purpose-designed around a structured surgical patient journey, with dedicated consultation, procedure, laser and recovery areas, and is planned to expand with additional physicians.
THE ROLE
This is a foundational appointment. The person in this role will help define how the practice runs - its clinical protocols, its patient experience and its nursing team - rather than inherit a fixed system.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead and build the clinical side of the practice.
“You will be at the chair-side for procedures, on the phone to insurers and operating facilities, and writing the protocols that everyone else follows.”
LEAD
Clinical standards, nursing workflows and team development.
OWN
The complete surgical patient journey from consultation to recovery.
BUILD
Systems, protocols and an exceptional private-practice patient experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Surgical patient journey
• Coordinate the complete surgical pathway: consultation, pre-operative workup, day of surgery, and post-operative recovery and review
• Conduct pre-operative patient education, consent support, fasting and medication instructions, and pre-admission checks
• Coordinate investigations, anaesthetic and surgical clearances, and fitness-for-surgery requirements
• Liaise with private hospitals, day surgery centres, anaesthetists, radiology, laboratories and referring practitioners
• Manage operating list scheduling, theatre bookings, implant and consumable ordering, and instrument availability
• Support intra-operative requirements where the practice's scope and your credentialing permit
Clinical nursing care
• Prepare consultation and treatment rooms, patients, forms and required equipment before clinics and procedures
• Deliver high-quality pre- and post-operative nursing care, including wound care, dressing changes, drain and suture removal, and post-operative reviews within your scope of practice
• Assist within-clinic procedures under local anaesthesia/sedation, including chair-side assistance, monitoring and recovery observation
• Assist with aesthetic treatments - injectables, energy-based devices and skin procedures -strictly within the scope permitted under MOH Aesthetic Practice Guidelines
• Operate as designated support for Class 3B/4 laser treatments, including safety controls, eyewear discipline, signage, interlocks and treatment logs
• Manage clinical emergencies: maintain the emergency trolley, anaphylaxis protocols, oxygen and resuscitation readiness, and lead drills
The right person combines strong surgical nursing skills with organisational discipline, sound judgement and genuine initiative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
CLINICAL GOVERNANCE, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
• Develop and maintain clinical protocols, SOPs, checklists and nursing workflows
• Own infection prevention and control: sterilisation and autoclave operation, validation and record-keeping, single-use policy, clinical waste segregation and disposal
• Support HCSA licensing requirements, clinical governance documentation, incident reporting, audit cycles and inspection readiness
• Maintain laser safety documentation, device servicing and calibration records, and staff training records
• Ensure PDPA-compliant handling of patient data, photographs and clinical records, including consent for clinical and marketing imagery
• Manage medication and consumable governance: ordering, cold-chain, expiry control, controlled and prescription-only medicines handling, and reconciliation
ADMINISTRATION & INSURANCE
• Prepare and manage insurance documentation, Letters of Guarantee, pre-authorisations, Medisave and Integrated Shield Plan submissions
• Liaise with insurers, third-party administrators and hospital business offices on claims and estimates
• Support accurate clinical coding, procedure documentation and supporting letters
• Coordinate patient schedules and maintain clear communication between clinical and administrative teams
LEADERSHIP & PRACTICE BUILDING
• Recruit, train, roster and supervise nursing and clinical-support staff as the practice grows
• Set and hold the standard for patient experience, confidentiality and professionalism
• Onboard and train staff onto clinical systems, EMR workflows and new equipment
• Contribute to the setup of new clinical areas and the integration of additional physicians
• Work flexibly across functions rather than within rigid departmental boundaries
Comfortable owning outcomes, anticipating needs before being asked, and working in an environment where systems are still being built.
REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Current registration with the Singapore Nursing Board as a Registered Nurse, with a valid Practising Certificate. This is a mandatory statutory requirement.
• Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, including at least 2 years in a surgical, aesthetic or procedural setting
• Demonstrated experience coordinating surgical patients and post-operative care
• Current BCLS + AED certification
• Sound understanding of aseptic technique, sterilisation and infection control standards
• Excellent written and spoken English, with confident, tactful communication with discerning patients
• Highly organised, able to hold multiple priorities without dropping detail
• Proactive and resourceful - able to identify and solve problems without waiting to be instructed
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability and discretion
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Well-groomed and presentable. Ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance suitable for a client-facing environment.
• Excellent customer-service mindset.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
• Experience in facial plastic surgery, plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery
• Private practice experience, ideally in a surgeon-led clinic
• Familiarity with insurance processes, LOG applications, pre-authorisation and Integrated Shield Plan claims
• Formal laser safety training for Class 3B/4 medical lasers, or willingness to complete it (supported by the practice)
• Experience with HCSA licensing, clinical audit or clinic accreditation processes
• Experience setting up a new clinic, new service line or new clinical protocols
• Confident use of EMR and clinic management systems; experience with AI-enabled productivity, administrative or healthcare workflow tools is an advantage
• Ability to converse in a commonly spoken local language, to serve our patient base directly
Attributes we are looking for:
ADAPTABLE
Comfortable where systems are still evolving.
COLLABORATIVE
Willing to share responsibilities and cover for colleagues.
CALM
Steady around anxious patients and time-critical surgical logistics.
Most importantly: interested in building an excellent practice rather than performing a predefined nursing job.

• An attractive remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with qualifications, relevant experience and demonstrated capabilities.
• Additional hours compensated as overtime or time-in-lieu - we do not expect unpaid extended days

• Supported CME, laser safety and specialty training

• Clear scope to grow into a broader clinical leadership role as the practice expands
