We are looking for a Regional Head of IT, Asia, based in Singapore.

The Impact You Will Have

As the Regional Head of IT, Asia, you are responsible for driving strategic IT initiatives aligned with the region's growth strategy. This includes transparent communication with region management on significant IT changes, leading the adoption and integration of Generative AI technologies, managing application portfolio renewal and decommissioning as appropriate, and overseeing IT cost management.

The role also provides leadership for GenAI projects, contributes to rapid productivity initiatives, and steers the IT operations and delivery of Allianz Technology of the region. The roles collaborates with senior management and AZT to implement strategic initiatives, optimize delivery models, streamline processes, and address IT legacy challenges.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Regional IT Strategy Alignment: Drive strategic IT initiatives aligned with regional growth strategies and maintain regular communication with regional and global management on IT changes, developments, and strategic priorities.
  • IT Cost Optimization: Implement a region-specific IT cost optimization strategy that ensures sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and alignment with business priorities while maintaining innovation and service quality.
  • AI Adoption & Change Management: Lead AI adoption across the region, prioritizing use cases with business stakeholders, driving implementation with Allianz Technology, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. Champion AI innovation to enhance operations, customer experience, and business value.
  • Allianz Technology Steering: Oversee IT operations and delivery in collaboration with Allianz Technology, ensuring alignment with global strategies, optimizing delivery models, addressing legacy challenges, and driving initiatives like AZ Works.
  • Compliance & Workplace Stability: Ensure compliance with local regulatory IT requirements and external audits. Maintain a robust IT workplace setup aligned with the Global Workplace strategy and enterprise tool landscape.
  • IT Innovation & Legacy Transformation: Oversee application portfolio renewal and legacy platform transformation to modern, innovative solutions, piloting use cases with external vendors and aligning with global IT strategy and Enterprise Architecture.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Collaborate with senior management to set strategic priorities, drive execution of key initiatives, and provide visionary leadership for IT and AI-driven innovation across the region.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Management &Leadership Skills: Proven experience in IT management, strategic planning, and change management (7–10 years minimum).
  • Technical Expertise: Strong IT professional background, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Stakeholder Management: Skilled in engaging and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Global Team Leadership: Experience in working internationally and remotely managing global teams (7–10 years minimum).
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management, including budget and resource management (7–10 years minimum).
  • Solution-Oriented Approach: Focused on delivering effective and innovative solutions.
  • Communication &Presentation: Strong skills in communication, presentation, and influencing across various levels.
  • AI: The ability to ensure ethical AI practices and stay updated with emerging AI technologies will be key to maintaining a competitive advantage.
