Research Fellow or Research Associate (Digital Health – Mixed Methods Research), 1 year minimum, up to 3 years

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Fellow or Research Associate to contribute to interdisciplinary projects in digital health, with a particular focus on the development, optimization, and evaluation of mobile health (mHealth) interventions for diverse population segments. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, translational research environment at theintersection of behavioural science, public health, and digital technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, refine, and optimise mHealth interventions tailored for different demographic populations using smartphone applications, wearable technologies, and just-in-time adaptive intervention frameworks
  • Analyse qualitative data from interviews and focus group discussions, and refine digital health interventions based on these findings
  • Develop and refine interview guides and focus group discussion guides
  • Guide and support student assistants in conducting interviews and focus groups
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform intervention design and evaluation
  • Support the analysis of intervention effectiveness, contributing to usability testing, user engagement metrics, and statistical analysis
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams including behavioural scientists, software developers, clinicians, public health experts, and national health promotion stakeholders
  • Translate research findings into scientific publications, policy recommendations, and practical tools
  • Support grant writing and contribute to securing external funding
  • Supervise or mentor junior researchers or interns as appropriate.

The Research Fellow or Research Associate will work closely with members of the Physical Activity and Nutrition Determinants in Asia (PANDA) research programme. PANDA is one of the major research programs of the SSHSPH including faculty members from a variety of disciplines. PANDA aims to understand determinants of nutrition and physical activity behaviours in Asian populations and develop interventions to improve these behaviours and contribute to the prevention of non-communicable diseases and mental well-being.

Recruitment is open immediately, and will continue until the position is filled.
