Exclusive mandate (confidential client)
Our client is a growing digital entertainment and content technology business with cross-border operations and international partners.
This is a newly created position and the first dedicated in-house legal hire, due to business expansion. You will build the contracting and IP foundations, partner closely with leadership and commercial teams, and bring practical legal structure to a fast-moving environment. The role is hands-on, with commercial contracts and IP/trademarks as the core pillars.
Commercial contracts (core): Draft, review and negotiate SaaS/tech contracts, SLAs, NDAs, referral/partner agreements, vendor and services contracts
IP & trademarks (essential): Own day-to-day IP work including trademark portfolio management (filings/renewals/watch services), IP clauses in commercial deals, licensing/use permissions, and coordinating enforcement actions with external counsel
Put in place templates, playbooks, and a clean contracting workflow to help teams move faster
Coordinate external counsel across jurisdictions as needed
Support broader legal/compliance matters linked to cross-border operations
Qualified lawyer with 7–12 PQE
Strong commercial contracting experience with confident drafting and negotiation skills
IP/trademarks experience is essential (portfolio management and advising stakeholders on IP protection and usage)
Comfortable being the first legal hire, able to work independently and set up simple processes
Advantageous: gaming / interactive content / digital entertainment experience
Bonus: cross-border exposure and experience managing multiple external counsel
