The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented project manager to be part of the GWB Regional Project Management Office. The projects vary from transformative initiatives in the regions, productivity initiatives to risk and compliance initiatives.

Primary responsibility will be driving project activities from planning to executions. These activities aim to drive strong organizational collaboration, executable strategy/ solutions between various functions in GWB and the Bank globally. You will work closely with senior project managers, cross functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

The individual will be part of project core team to participate in full Project Lifecycle and to assist in end-to-end project planning and execution, monitoring/ tracking of progress across the key project phases, namely pre-project discovery, design and implementation:

  • Prepare status updates to Project Working Committee and Project Steering Committee
  • Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and drive working level discussion and resolution
  • Assist in current state analysis, business requirements gathering, operating model and problem solving for projects assigned
  • Assist in test planning, test case and test data preparation, UAT coordination, and defect triage
  • Assist in change management planning and prepare change materials
  • Assist in post implementation production support

Job Qualifications

We are looking for an individual with project management or banking process experience or consulting experience. The candidate is also expected to have sufficient financial services knowledge with at least 5 years of experience with a reputable firm or transformation division or project management office of leading financial institutions.

Background requirement

  • At least 5 years of experience in consulting, banking or other financial institutions with experiences in project management or banking process
  • Experience in project management and execution covering projects across methodologies and tools
  • Effective communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work across functions
  • Strong problem solver. Ability to distill complex problems into clear, concise summaries, while formulating action plans to resolve these problems
  • Excellent analytical skills both in terms of logic of reasoning and analysis of large volume of data
  • Self-driven achiever with ability to work effectively
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong in Excel (business analysis), MS PowerPoint (slide writing)
