🚗 SENIOR AUTOMOTIVE STEEL TRADER
Singapore | Indonesia & ASEAN Coverage

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Senior Automotive Steel Trader to drive the growth of an established international trading organisation’s automotive steel business across Indonesia and ASEAN.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven steel professional with strong relationships across the automotive and EV ecosystem, particularly OEMs, Tier-1 and Tier-2 customers.

THE ROLE

• Develop and grow the automotive steel business across Indonesia and ASEAN
• Build and deepen relationships with automotive & EV OEMs, Tier-1 and Tier-2 customers
• Originate new business and develop new customer accounts
• Trade galvanized, coated, painted and specialty automotive steel
• Source products from regional and international steel mills
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and supply agreements
• Manage physical trades, margins and commercial risk
• Identify opportunities in EV-related applications and advanced high-strength steel
• Work closely with operations, logistics, finance and credit teams on deal execution

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Degree holder
• 10+ years of relevant steel trading / commercial experience
• Strong direct experience in automotive steel
• Good knowledge of galvanized, coated, painted or specialty steel products
• Established relationships with automotive / EV OEMs, Tier-1 and Tier-2 customers
• Strong Indonesia and/or ASEAN commercial network
• Proven track record in business development and physical steel trading
• Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-building capabilities
• Entrepreneurial and comfortable developing business in growth markets
