Contracts Manager

Salary: $8,000 – $11,000 per month
Location: East

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead contract and commercial management functions within a construction environment.

The successful candidate will oversee tendering activities, contract administration, and commercial risk management while leading a team of quantity surveyors to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Contract & Commercial Management

• Lead and manage contract administration across multiple construction projects.
• Provide contractual advice to senior management, project managers, and site teams.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and organisational procedures.

Tendering & Procurement

• Oversee tender preparation and submission processes.
• Develop strategies for sourcing subcontractors and suppliers, including defining scope of work and contract terms.
• Evaluate and negotiate contract terms to achieve favourable project outcomes.

Cost Control & Risk Management

• Implement cost control measures across project lifecycle.
• Conduct risk assessments and value management exercises.
• Identify and manage commercial risks, and propose mitigation strategies.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quantity surveyors.
• Ensure team performance aligns with project timelines and organisational goals.
• Support capability development within the team.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction contract management or quantity surveying.
• Experience in managing teams and overseeing multiple projects is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and regulatory frameworks (e.g. PSSCOC, SIA, REDAS).
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills for reporting and coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
