Job Summary

The Deputy Chief Operating Officer supports the COO in managing daily operations and strategic development of the Family Office. This role drives operational governance, financial oversight, tax coordination, and leads strategic initiatives to ensure sustainable growth and legacy preservation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational activities alongside the COO to ensure efficiency, regulatory compliance, and service excellence across the Family Office
  • Develop and implement policies, systems, and reporting frameworks that support sustainable growth and operational transparency
  • Supervise and mentor team members to foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and professionalism
  • Oversee budgeting, cash flow management, accounting processes, and consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms and tax advisors to ensure compliance with local and international regulations and optimize tax structures
  • Assist in designing and implementing financial systems to enhance transparency and support informed decision-making
  • Lead and support strategic projects including corporate restructuring, estate planning, and property transactions such as acquisitions, refurbishments, and disposals
  • Manage operational and administrative functions of property and luxury asset portfolios to ensure effective asset stewardship
  • Collaborate with legal, accounting, and property management professionals to execute projects efficiently and in alignment with strategic goals
  • Maintain and develop relationships with external service providers including legal counsel, tax specialists, bankers, investment managers, and administrators to support operational needs
  • Build and sustain a network of trusted advisors across jurisdictions to advance the Family Office’s long-term objectives
  • Act as a central liaison between the COO, principal, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and continuity of operations
  • Provide analytical and operational insights to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of family governance frameworks, succession planning, and philanthropic initiatives
  • Support contingency and business continuity planning to safeguard the Family Office’s long-term stability and resilience

Required competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a single-family office, multi-family office, private client advisory, or professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax and financial structures, including cross-border compliance
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, operational leadership, and project execution
  • Familiarity with Singapore’s regulatory environment (MAS, MOM) and regional best practices

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualifications such as MBA or equivalent
  • Professional accounting certifications such as CPA, ACA, or ACCA
