[What the role is]

The Domain Lead for Teaching Allocation & Timetabling leads the planning, delivery, adoption and continuous improvement of academic workload allocation and timetabling capabilities for Temasek Polytechnic.

[What you will be working on]

The role connects academic schools, central academic operations, IT Services, vendors and project teams to deliver reliable, user-centred and well-governed processes aligned with TP's operational needs.

1. Domain Leadership and Product Ownership

• Lead the functional domain for teaching allocation, workload planning, class timetabling and related scheduling processes across TP.

• Align cross-domain processes, dependencies, integration points and solution decisions, and provide peer guidance to other Domain Leads where required.

2. Solution Delivery and Configuration

• Support implementation, configuration, testing and enhancement of academic scheduling platforms.

• Work with vendors and internal teams to validate business rules, workflows, data setup, access, reports and integrations.

• Maintain functional specifications, test records and implementation deliverables, and recommend fit-for-purpose options balancing business needs, sustainability, security, cost, integration complexity and user experience.

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management

• Engage academic schools, central academic administration, coordinators, lecturers, project managers, technical teams and vendors to drive alignment and timely decisions.

• Prepare communications, process guides, decision papers and user documentation, and support training, knowledge transfer and adoption with the Change Management Team.

• Manage expectations, dependencies, risks and issues; facilitate resolution or escalation; and provide consolidated updates and recommendations to the Functional Manager and relevant stakeholders.

4. Data, Integration and Governance

• Ensure accurate and timely flow of curriculum, module, class, staff, student, venue, calendar and constraint data required for allocation and timetabling.

• Define and monitor data quality checks, exception handling, reconciliation and audit trails.

5. Operations Support and Continuous Improvement

• Provide second-level functional support and triage during planning cycles, peak scheduling, timetable publication and subsequent changes.

• Analyse recurring issues, user feedback and operational metrics to improve processes, automation, reporting and user experience.

• Support incident reviews, root-cause analysis, service improvement and transition to business-as-usual operations, including knowledge transfer and escalation pathways.

• Monitor education technology, academic operations and scheduling trends, and recommend pragmatic improvements to TP's digital academic planning capabilities.

[What we are looking for]

  • Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education Technology, Business Information Systems, Operations Management or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in academic operations, education technology, timetabling, workload allocation, student administration systems, enterprise applications or an equivalent IT or business domain leadership role.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery, DevSecOps, data governance, dashboards and service management; data analytics experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in leading teams, mentoring peers or coordinating cross-functional initiatives; relevant professional certification is advantageous.
