A well-established financial services platform is looking to appoint an experienced Internal Legal Counsel to join its Singapore office in a key standalone legal role supporting regional business operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded legal professional who enjoys working closely with management and business stakeholders across a broad spectrum of legal, regulatory and commercial matters within the financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, legal documentation and contracts
  • Provide practical legal advice to management and business teams on corporate, employment and commercial matters
  • Advise on legal and regulatory risks, while recommending commercially sound solutions and risk mitigation strategies
  • Handle legal aspects of client agreements, disclosures and third-party vendor contracts
  • Manage contractual relationships with service providers and external counterparties
  • Support dispute resolution matters and ad-hoc legal projects where required
  • Maintain proper custody and governance of executed agreements and legal documentation

Requirements:

  • LLB qualification with approximately 8–10 years of relevant legal experience
  • At least 5 years of experience within financial services, banking, securities or capital markets environment
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore financial services regulations, including MAS and SGX frameworks
  • Good understanding of the Securities and Futures Act and Singapore employment law
  • Independent, meticulous and commercially pragmatic mindset
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and business partnering capability
