Job Summary

The Job Coach supports adults in achieving sustainable employment and greater financial resilience. The role involves one-to-one employment coaching, career guidance, job matching, workplace transition support, and post-placement follow-up to secure meaningful work aligned with participants' life circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Employment Readiness Assessments to evaluate participants’ skills, barriers, and aspirations
  • Develop personalised employment action plans tailored to individual participant needs
  • Deliver career coaching and motivational support to enhance participant confidence and job readiness
  • Guide participants through interview preparation and resume development to improve employment prospects
  • Match participants to suitable job opportunities based on their skills and circumstances
  • Support participants with job applications and coordinate interview arrangements
  • Prepare participants for workplace expectations and coordinate work trials when appropriate
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with participants and employers to monitor job retention and resolve workplace issues
  • Provide coaching to improve participant retention and conduct six-month employment reviews
  • Guide participants in evaluating job opportunities considering net income, transport costs, working hours, caregiving responsibilities, physical suitability, digital readiness, CPF implications, and long-term sustainability
  • Collaborate with community partners, Active Ageing Centres, and DBS volunteers to enhance participant support
  • Refer participants to financial coaching, digital support, and relevant social services as needed
  • Maintain accurate participant case notes and update CRM and programme databases
  • Track participant outcomes and employment metrics to measure programme effectiveness
  • Prepare progress reports to communicate participant achievements and challenges

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Resource, Career Development, or related field
  • Experience in employment services, career coaching, workforce development, or case management
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to empower mature workers
  • Proficient report writing and documentation skills
  • Comfortable conducting outreach and community engagement
  • CIPD – Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development certification (preferred)
  • ICF Coaching Certification (preferred)
  • CAP – Career Counsellor Advisory course (preferred)

Working days and hours

  • 5-day work week
  • 8:30am to 6pm
