[What the role is]

The Lecturer is responsible for designing and delivering curriculum, developing instructional materials, and facilitating Mathematics lessons across multiple delivery modes, including classroom teaching, online (synchronous and asynchronous) learning, hybrid formats, and experiential approaches such as applied projects, problem-solving workshops, fieldwork, and industry-linked assignments. The role also involves providing academic and career guidance, engaging with industry and community partners, contributing to institutional initiatives, and supporting student development. It requires strong subject expertise in Mathematics, innovative pedagogy, adaptability to new technologies, and a commitment to continuous professional growth and student success.

[What you will be working on]

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Design & Delivery

• Design, develop, conduct, and review Mathematics curriculum and lessons for PET and CET learners.

• Develop and conduct National Education (NE) and Life Skills modules for PET learners.
• Incorporate instructional design frameworks and ensure curriculum relevance to educational and industry standards

Instructional Innovation

• Deliver innovative, experiential lessons in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
• Integrate generative AI and digital platforms to enhance pedagogy and assessment
• Design and conduct mathematics proficiency tests, learning packages, and intervention strategies.

Research & Industry Engagement

• Conduct research on current educational trends to ensure curriculum effectiveness.
• Analyse student learning profiles to identify needs and implement targeted interventions.
• Engage in student-industry or community-based activities that enrich applied learning

Student Support & Development

• Provide academic, career guidance, and pastoral care, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Facilitate NE, Life Skills, and Education & Career Guidance modules.
• Support student development through field trips, industry programmes, and overseas exposure.

Institutional & Administrative Contributions

• Participate in orientation, outreach, and committee work at Centre, School, and Polytechnic levels.
• Contribute actively to institutional initiatives that enhance student engagement and success.

[What we are looking for]

• Relevant qualification and experience in Mathematics, Science or Engineering.
• Experience in Gen AI application and/or Data Analytics and Business Intelligence tools (Python, Tableau, Power BI etc) is preferred, but not required.
• Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and facilitate discussions, mediate opinions, and evaluate reasoning.
• Passion for teaching, learning, and working with youth and adult learners.
• Effective team player, adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with educational technologies, generative AI tools, and digital learning platforms.
• Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred, but not required.
