ABOUT PHOENIX ADVISORY

Phoenix Advisory (phoenixadvisory.sg) is an AI-enabled risk advisory firm operating at the intersection of traditional finance, legal and tax advisory. We have built a wide network of specialist partners and clients across the region - combining AI-driven efficiency with deep advisory expertise. Having established our foundations, we are now looking for a Principal to lead its next phase of growth.

THE ROLE

This is a high-ownership operator role for a young lawyer looking for alternatives to the traditional law firm/in-house paths.

The Principal will be the ‘face’ of Phoenix - responsible for service delivery, business development and the continued build-out of our AI-powered service capabilities.

You will have the opportunity to take up as much responsibility as you’d like - including P&L ownership as you grow the business.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

• Risk advisory leadership. Lead the business across verticals, drawing on your legal background to deliver and oversee client engagements with rigour and commercial awareness.
• Client relationship ownership. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinating across legal, finance, and tax workstreams, leading legal workstreams and managing external partners to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Business development. Identify and convert new opportunities, grow existing client relationships and help expand Phoenix’s footprint across the region.
• AI and technology build-out. Drive the continued development of our AI-enabled service delivery model - identifying where technology can enhance quality, speed and scalability.
• Partner network management. Manage and deepen our network of specialist partners across SEA in legal, finance and tax.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Singapore-qualified lawyer with approximately 2–4 PQE, though we are flexible for the right candidate.
• Strong technical grounding in legal and/or risk advisory work, ideally with exposure to finance or tax.
• Genuine interest in AI and how it can reshape professional services.
• Commercially minded, with the confidence to own client relationships end-to-end and develop new business.

COMPENSATION

Base compensation will be below typical law firm market rates, reflective of the early-stage nature of the business. In return, we offer a meaningful equity stake through ESOPs, a clear path to a shareholder/operator role as the business scales and participation in the profit pool of the business.
