Senior Accountant – Commodity Trading & Shipping

Grow your accounting career in the dynamic commodities industry, with exposure to trading and shipping entities. You will take ownership of full sets of accounts, financial reporting and compliance, while contributing to stronger accounting processes and internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting operations, including banking, AR, AP and reconciliations.
• Independently handle full sets of accounts, month-end closing, journals and accruals.
• Prepare accurate financial reports and supporting schedules for management review.
• Prepare GST returns and withholding tax filings.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax agents on audit, tax and statutory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with confidence in managing full sets independently.
• Experience in commodity trading, shipping or maritime businesses is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Singapore GST, withholding tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Mandarin to liaise with China-based counterparts.
