RESPONSIBILITY

• Play an active role in the initial implementation of the new accounting software, including training staff and rolling out the system to all users across the office and project sites. Ensure all relevant information is communicated to users so they understand how to operate the new system, and serve as the liaison with the software vendor and IT team to troubleshoot user issues.

• Support the Accounts General Manager in customizing financial reports to align with Japan head office formats, updated financial reporting standards, GST reporting formats, and income tax reports for the tax agent.

• Assist the Accounts General Manager in rolling out bank payment integrations, as well as integration with IRAS and external vendors to comply with new InvoiceNow requirements.

• Serve as a key contact point with the external software developer, working alongside the Accounts General Manager and IT team, to resolve user issues both before and after the system go-live.

• Verify and input supplier and contractor invoices into the accounting system to ensure completeness of transaction records and facilitate timely payments to subcontractors and suppliers.

• Review petty cash claims, enter them into the accounting system, and update related schedules to track annual spending caps and ensure timely monthly reimbursements to staff.

• Review payment checklists to confirm accuracy of recorded payments and process monthly payment batches to suppliers and contractors.

• Support the Assistant Accounts Manager and Accounts General Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Japan head office.

• Assist the Assistant Accounts Manager and Accounts General Manager during annual audits, including coordination with external auditors, income tax computations for the tax agent, and GST audits.

• Carry out other accounting, reporting, and administrative tasks as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Polytechnic qualification in Accounting.

• 5-10 years of relevant working experience.

• Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite system is required.
