About the Department

The Business Support Team serves as the central business management function for Group Wholesale Banking (GWB). Operating within the GWB Business Management & Support (BMS) COO Office, the team partners closely with GWB businesses and enterprise-wide functions to plan, support, and manage Run-the-Bank activities, as well as drive key business management initiatives.

Working across all GWB businesses, products, and markets globally, the team collaborates with senior stakeholders across product, coverage, and support functions to deliver operational excellence, productivity improvements, and effective execution of GWB’s strategy. In addition to core business management responsibilities, the Business Support Team also leads and manages initiatives aimed at accelerating revenue growth and uplifting productivity across Wholesale Banking.

Under the leadership of the GWB Chief Operating Officer, the team plays a critical role in enabling business performance by providing end-to-end business support, strengthening execution discipline, and supporting the successful implementation of GWB’s overall business strategy.

About the Role

This Vice President role supports Run‑the‑Bank priorities and sits within the GWB Business Support team, with accountability for executing core business management, governance, and control activities across Wholesale Banking.

The role encompasses business planning, management reporting, risk and control execution, and delivery of ad‑hoc initiatives to strengthen operational resilience and execution effectiveness.

The incumbent is expected to drive disciplined execution, provide clear management insights, and ensure strong stakeholder alignment across GWB businesses and enterprise functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Business Management and Business Support Team Lead in delivering GWB‑level business management, planning and control outcomes.
  • Drive and coordinate Run‑the‑Bank initiatives and projects in partnership with Business Management teams in GWB and other key stakeholders across the Bank.
  • Provide management information and insights to senior stakeholders, ensuring compliance with internal standards and reporting requirements.
  • Deliver timely, accurate and decision‑useful management reports and dashboards to support governance forums, oversight, and accountability.
  • Partner with Coverage and Support functions to resolve Run‑the‑Bank operational issues and lead effective remediation efforts.
  • Execute business risk management and control processes in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies, contributing to a strong control environment within GWB BM.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience in banking or financial institutions, with strong exposure to business management, planning, governance, and support functions.
  • Proven ability to operate as a trusted business partner, working effectively across senior stakeholders and diverse teams to deliver Run‑the‑Bank outcomes and process improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and owning end‑to‑end workstreams or initiatives within Run‑the‑Bank, governance, control, or operational domains.
  • Strong professional judgment and organizational discipline, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound trade‑offs, and drive execution in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues, risks, and trade‑offs clearly, and to formulate pragmatic, timely action plans for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capability, including the ability to validate, interpret, and manage data and reports, with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for executive‑level analysis and presentations.
  • High attention to detail and quality, with a consistent focus on accuracy and disciplined execution.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, reliability, and commitment to high standards of execution.
