The Centre for Youth Work Practice Harnessing Evidence & Research (CYPHER) is the only youth work charity in Singapore that utilises an evidence-based and peer-reviewed framework for youth interventions developed specifically for the local context. Position Overview

CYPHER is seeking Student Practitioners (Supervised) to gain practitioner-led experience across the charity's operational, research, and clinical service functions. This arrangement supports CYPHER's commitment to strengthening the connection between higher education, professional development, and frontline practice.

Placements comprise three tracks, and students will be rotated across all three based on their training, competencies, and academic placement requirements.

Placement Opportunities and Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with clinical operations and administrative functions
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Conduct research on selected topics and clinical best practices
  • Assist with designing surveys, focus groups, and interviews
  • Support data analysis to identify patterns, needs, and opportunities (qualitative & quantitative)
  • Assist with the preparation of research briefs, summaries, and presentations
  • Undertake other research-related tasks 
  • Assist with clinical/non-clinical programme development
  • Assist with intervention programmes and other clinical work (planning, implementation, and evaluation)

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related discipline
  • Genuine interest in evidence-based practice, and non-profit work
  • Openness to learning CYPHER's clinical frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and professional maturity
  • Applicants will be assessed for readiness, commitment, and ethical conduct (mandatory)

Working Arrangement

  • Nature of work is dependent on assignment. Some roles allow flexible work-from-home arrangements, with weekly online or in-person supervision meetings.

This is an unpaid internship role.
